"Sent to Vicksburg, Miss., via Cairo, IL December 5, 1862" 
Exchanged at Vicksburg, MS and rejoined the regiment at Demopolis, AL. 

He was wounded at the Battle of Peachtree Creek, Georgia on July 20, 1864,  in his right wrist, which caused it to turn inward at a right angle, making it difficult for him to perform his farmwork.
